Meaning of Perspective by Peter Gabriel (the story behind)

"Perspective" is a thought-provoking song by Peter Gabriel that explores the concept of different perspectives and how they shape our understanding of the world. Gabriel uses the metaphor of a camera lens to illustrate how we often only see a limited view of reality. He encourages the listener to step back and consider alternative viewpoints in order to gain a broader understanding. The lyrics also touch on the idea that our perspectives can be influenced by external forces, such as media and societal expectations. Ultimately, the song encourages introspection and a willingness to challenge our own assumptions.
